Graduate from Academy of Arts, High Cinema Institute, majoring in directing,Karim started his career in show business assisting his father and uncle in directing films.Do things always go according to plan? Not necessarily. A good example is Karim Abdel-Aziz. Born on 17th August, 1975, it was generally thought he would follow in the footsteps of his father Mohamed Abdel-Aziz, and Uncle Omar Abdel-Aziz, and become a director. Karim indeed started his career in show business assisting his father and uncle in directing films. After graduating from the Academy of Arts, He had already had a taste of the field when, as a 5 year old kid, he starred alongside Adel Emam and Soaad Hosney in El-Mashbouh and was thirsty for more. But as he was offered no opportunities at the time, he went on working as an assistant director for a long time. Then he had the good chance of meeting director Sherif Arafa in 1998 who offered him his first important role in Edhak El Soura Tetla3 Helwa. He made good use of the opportunity and soon after, he was given the chance to act with another big star; Samira Ahmed, in a television series aired in Ramadan. His role in Emra'ah Men Zaman El Hob pushed his career further ahead. The next step was another film on the silver screen; Aboud Ala El-Hodoud, with Alaa Waley El-Din. Then, came a new role in Genoun Al-Haya and finally his first leading role in Leih Khaletney Ahebak. Now Karim had proven himself in the romantic and comedy roles. So he went ahead and tried out the theater. He took part in Lama Baba Yenam and then Hakim Eyoun. He continued his success on the silver screen and went on to star alongside Hanan Turk in two movies; Harameya Fi KG 2 (2002) and Harameya Fi Tailand (2003). Both movies proved to be box office hits. One of his latest movies was Al-Basha Telmiz in 2004 alongside Ghada Adel. After that he starred in Abu Aly with Mona Zaki. And his latest big success was Wahed Men El Nas (2006). And at the moment he is starring in Fi Mahatet Masr (2007) which is still in cinemas now.
